Robert Joseph Gubish Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Peacefully yet too suddenly Bob “Gub” went to heaven on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, 22 days since his 69th birthday. For a long-time he had been waiting in “joyful hope” for healing from his many health ailments. A devoted Roman Catholic, his faith meant everything. A parishioner at Assumption Parish in Bellevue for nearly 40 years he was part of the daily Mass community, worked at festivals and attended dinners and golfed with the golf league. Faithful to friends from the old neighborhood of Brighton Heights he kept up with the lives of his North Catholic alums and his fraternity brothers from Robert Morris. You could count on Bob for a story from the past, puns and jokes and most especially a spontaneous song from the golden oldies or a Slovak Christmas carol. But most of all he was devoted to his sons; always proud and concerned with their lives. He will be sorely missed by his family including nephews and cousins but also his many friends and the Bellevue community. He is welcomed into the Communion of Saints by his Dad “Fritz” and Mom Ann, son Brian and brother Greg. The memory of his life will be carried on by his wife and best friend Lori (Wheeler), sons Justin, Jeffrey, Jonathan (Rachel), and Jarrod (Sarah), his grandchildren Jeffrey, Gracie, Julian, Giana and Grant, and his sister Mary Ann (Mimi) and brother Frank (Tammy). Family and friends will be received on Thursday, March 24th from 5-8 at the Lawrence T. Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 460 Lincoln Avenue, Bellevue. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday at the Church of the Assumption, Bellevue, with friend Fr. John Marcucci as presider.
